Controls Designer/Electrical Engineer
Assists the Project Designer/Engineer with the electrical or control aspects of a project with emphasis on high speed motion control, maintains control of all aspects of projects assigned specifically. Is an organized, creative, independent worker with a strong background in electrical and electronic design and application, software, and in automated equipment. Familiar with the manufacturing process, standard drafting practices, safety standards and project management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Other duties may be assigned. Researches and analyzes data such as customer design proposal, specifications and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application. Designs products or systems such as automated machines and shrink ovens, re-winders, slitters or other web handling equipment requiring machine design, mechanical, thermal, hydraulic or heat transfer calculations. Plans and directs engineering and other personnel in fabrication of automated machines and associated equipment and development of methods and procedures for testing products or systems. Coordinates release of new products from development to manufacturing, providing accurate bills of material and assembly procedures. Designs products and systems to interface with existing product lines.
Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or over five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience to meet the position requirements.
Must be proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for engineering drawing generation. Skilled in word processing, spreadsheets, Internet software, e-mail, manufacturing software, database software.
