Periop Informatics Clinical Specialist

This role is a nursing resource for surgery business services within the Perioperative Services department, with the main focus in surgery scheduling.  This role will provide:


    Day-to-day management of the future surgery schedule; including surgery, anesthesia and room resources. 

    Coordinate with surgery schedulers, team leads and management to ensure effective OR utilization and patient/customer satisfaction.

    Leads daily scheduling planning meeting.

    Liaison and translation of credentialing/privilege assignment with surgical procedures in the electronic medical record.

    Organize the set-up of new providers in the electronic medical record.

    Coordinate surgeon/provider surgical picklist and preference cards.

    Provide support for materials and supply management, pricing, and charging.



Minimum Education:  RN (Associates)

Preferred Education:  RN plus Bachelor’s degree


Minimum License/Certification/Registration:  Current Minnesota RN License, advanced certification in subspecialty is preferred.


Minimum of 5 years clinical operating room experience, 5-10 years in clinical operating room experience is preferred.
