Inventory Specialist I

This position manages and directs the adjustment of inventory levels of stock and nonstock supplies/equipment throughout the site (to include, but not limited to all patient care areas, surgery, ancillary departments, related clinics). Considers labor and acquisition costs in determining appropriate par levels for cost efficient inventory management. Establishes parameters for equipment levels including rental guidelines. Maintains, verifies and updates the receiving and distribution records and supplies. Make independent judgments and decisions based on analyzing and monitoring inventory levels to authorize volume purchases regarding inventory levels. Provide communication to all departments regarding changes and updates relating to product descriptions, number, units of measure, stock additions and deletions, and inventory exceptions to supply pathway/procedure pack configurations. Works directly with vendors, suppliers, corporate materials, and department directors and managers. Serve as subject matter expert on Materials Management Information System (MMIS). Recommend process improvements to customers and superiors.  


Qualifications
Minimum Quals: High School Diploma and 1 year working in inventory management or 2 years working in healthcare with medical products and able to demonstrate intermediate excel skills.

Preferred Quals: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or related field; APICS or CMRP( Certified Resource and Materials Professional) and 2 years experience in inventory management in a healthcare.setting and able to demonstrate intermediate excel skills.
