The University of Minnesota Medical Center is looking for an experienced senior financial analyst. This position provides reporting and analysis that enables management to make sound business decisions.
Reports income statement, volume, clinical and operational metrics
Provides senior level business analysis of clinical populations, including changes to insurance payments, readmissions, length of stay, DRGs, diagnoses, procedures, etc.
Benchmark a clinical population's costs, resource utilization, readmissions, etc.
Synthesizes large datasets into insightful information for a non-finance audience
Models financial pro formas
Analyzes & tracks performance improvement initiatives
Labor productivity analysis and benchmarking
Applies critical thinking skills to validate and analyze large datasets
Other ad hoc projects as assigned
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration or related field. 4-6 years experience in a finance related role including at least 3 years as a senior analyst. Knowledge of business concepts such as finance, statistics, marketing, strategy, etc. Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and pivot tables. Familiar with Microsoft Access and PowerPoint.
Experienced with business analysis of clinical populations. Energized by a fast-paced, competitive work environment. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Highly organized and detail-oriented. Able to independently work on complex analysis projects, meet tight deadlines, and juggle competing priorities. Willing and able to quickly learn various databases and clinical service lines. Resourceful self-starter, creative problem solver, tenacious, and passionate about excellence and continuous learning.
