Marshfield Clinic is one of the largest patient care, research & educational systems in the United States. The Marshfield Clinic Research Foundation consists of research centers in clinical research, agricultural health and safety, epidemiology, human genetics, and biomedical informatics. It also provides a range of support services for physician and scientist investigators, including biostatistics, protocol and grant preparation, research publication and core laboratory support.

The Associate Director (AD) has primary responsibility for administrative and operational activities within the Marshfield Clinic Research Foundation (MCRF). He/she works in partnership with the Medical Director (MD), providing leadership, management, and oversight for staff recruitment & retention, training, career development and staff enrichment activities. The AD leads, oversees and creates the organizational infrastructure to include human resources, facility resources, contracting, fiscal management, outreach strategies, internal communications and consensus building. The AD is responsible to assure that the office of the MD facilitates the success of the scientist and the scientific undertakings within MCRF while ensuring that MCRF resources are being efficiently managed in accordance with Marshfield Clinic policy and all legal and regulatory requirements.

Master’s degree in Business or Health Care Administration or related field is required. Must have 5 years of progressively responsible management experience in healthcare/research, quality improvement strategies and activities for a healthcare/research organization to include grants management, contract development and negotiation, budget preparation and oversight, and research compliance experience. Previous human resource management and direct supervision of staff is also required.
