Position Summary

Under the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer, the Research Compliance Director, is responsible for oversight for all research activities of the Park Nicollet Health Services (PNHS) including the Institutional Review Board (IRB), and the IRB for the Community Oncology Programs. Manages the development and implementation of policies and procedures to assure that research with human subjects conducted by PNHS staff is in accordance with Federal and state regulations and Park Nicollet Institute (PNI) standards. Responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive program for the responsible conduct of research.

Functions as the organization’s subject matter expert on research related compliance issues, including Third Party Payer and Medicare research billing, coding, IDE, and secondary payer rules. Serves as primary resource to the Park Nicollet Institute (PNI) Executive Director and Research Practice Director on research compliance, human subjects, privacy, conflict of interest, misconduct and interpretation of State and Federal regulations related to research.

BA required; MBA or MHA preferred in addition to 5 or more years of progressive leadership experience in research compliance and 3 or more years of IRB experience. Additional experience within a health care provider organization desirable.

Special Knowledge/Skill/Certifications/Licenses:
Knowledge of DHHS, FDA, OHRP regulations. Demonstrated ability to effectively interface with principal investigators and research staff. Research compliance and IRB Certification preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently. Computer proficiency in word, spreadsheet and database software, navigation of the Internet and Epic.
