SMT Pick and Place Operator
Primary responsibility is the successful operation of SMT automatic assembly equipment and peripheral equipment used on SMT line(s). 2.0 Reports to: 2.1 SMT Lead 3.0 Direct Reports: N/A 4.0 Exemption Status: Non-Exempt 5.0 Duties and Responsibilities: 5.1 Reports directly to SMT Lead and is required to interface with SMT Support personnel and other Production personnel during daily activities. 5.2 Daily responsibilities include set-up, operation and routine maintenance of SMT equipment. Operator should be able to correct or diagnose typical machine errors and make minor adjustments when necessary. 5.3 Errors requiring SMT Support should be logged and SMT Lead should be made aware of issue(s) and the potential impact on completion of job(s). Any trends in machine error(s) or performance issue(s) should be forwarded to SMT Lead for further diagnosis and resolution. 5.4 Reads and adheres to process documentation, machine manuals and training materials. IPC 610 certification is required and should be kept current. 5.5 Uses controls to activate machines or monitors indicators during soldering process in order to maintain sequential operation and flow of assemblies through entire SMT process including reflow, cleaning processes and ancillary process(s) specific to job. 5.6 Performs first echelon preventive maintenance tasks and ensures cleanliness of interior and exterior of machine line equipment assigned to SMT line. Follows maintenance calendar and records preventive maintenance tasks and cleaning activities in Galaxy system. 5.7 Responsible for making sure that safety and maintenance concerns beyond the scope of this position are transmitted to both SMT Support and SMT Lead to ensure reliable operation of all SMT line equipment. 5.8 Undertakes other activities as assigned by SMT Lead or Production Supervisor. 6.0
Qualifications: (Education, Training, Skills, and Experience) 6.1 1 - 3 years of SMT experience or equivalent work experience preferred. 6.2 IPC-610 Certification required. 6.3 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. 6.4 Working knowledge of ATC - ERP software preferred. 7.0 QMS Training Needs: 7.1 Defined on the QMS TRAINING MATRIX AND LOG (#Q21FN) and are outlined in the QMS TRAINING PROCEDURE (#Q05PR).
