POSITION DESCRIPTION
Benefits Administration
- Provides administration and program support of the employee and retiree benefit plans
- Remains current on adopted and pending legislation and regulations affecting employee benefit programs, including COBRA, HIPAA, SECTION 125, Medicare, Social Security and the Affordable Care Act requirements.
- Enters, maintains and reports data as requested using information systems (i.e. Enterprise One, Vendor Systems, Risk Management Systems)
- Provides electronic weekly benefit file transfers to vendors
- Provides support to the annual open enrollment process
- Assists with the administration of the Health Risk Assessment
- Retrieves calls from Benefit Hot Line, assists in resolving benefit-related issues
- Assists with new employee orientation
- Analyzes benefit information, identifies and corrects problems, prepares information for review, and recommends solutions for continuous improvement
- Maintains appropriate confidentiality
Risk Administration
- Enters liability and property loss reports into the department tracking system
- Maintains the fleet inventory list in conjunction with appropriate departmental staff and distributes the list to outside sources
- Maintains non-aviation property inventory list in conjunction with Airport Development, Relievers and Environment and distributes to outside sources
- Assists staff during insurance renewals by obtaining, sorting and distributing information to outside sources to facilitate the renewal of insurance, self-insurance and contracts
- Tracks and maintains certificates of insurance
Safety Administration
- Maintains the OSHA 300 log and other OSHA mandated documents
- Prepares and distributes Workers’ Compensation First Report of Injury
General Office Support
- Creates, proofs, and edits documents as needed
- Assists staff in establishing and maintaining databases to track losses, costs, training, trends, etc.
- Performs office management duties, including ordering and organizing office supplies, maintaining office equipment, completing purchasing requisitions, and maintaining department-wide filing and document archival system
- Performs budget specialist duties
- Maintains departmental intranet site
- Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements
- Two years of benefit administration experience
- Experience obtaining, organizing, tracking, maintaining, and reporting data
- Experience working with various databases and ensuring data integrity
- Intermediate skill level using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to translate complex industry terminology into language easily understood by non-industry audiences
- Experience working independently in an office environment under the direction of multiple staff
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize heavy workloads and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent customer service skills
Desirable Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Employee Benefits or Human Resources
- More than two years of benefit administration experience
- Experience working with self-insured benefit plans
- Experience with the creation or maintenance of employee self-service portals
- Knowledge of and/or working experience in a Risk Management Insurance related position
- Basic skill level using Microsoft Access
- Proficient in manipulating relational databases (i.e. Microsoft Access)
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), or Associate in Risk Management (ARM)
- Experience creating and conducting training presentations
