Responsibilities

  • Works with unit staff to maintain systems for exchange of information/communication
  • Organizes the work environment
  • Secures supplies and supports unit operations for the achievement of patient care needs
  • Responsibilities include birth certificate submission to the MDH


Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Graduate of a Technical Institute Health Unite Coordinator program, or previous experience as a Health Unit Coordinator, or a nursing student who has completed at least one clinical course in the nursing program
  • Previous experience preferred

Skills

  • Abilit to set priorities and work in a high activity environment
  • Ability to interact with patients, family members/visitors, other health team members in a courteous and helpful manner
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Strong communication/telephone skills
  • Computer and clerical skills
  • Customer service skills

 


 

Pay,Benefits, & Work Schedule

  • Part-time: 20 hours/week
  • Day/Night Shift
  • Every 3rd weekend
  • Work Schedule: Rotation 7am - 3:30pm, 11pm - 7:30am & 7pm - 7:30am
  • L113 Contract

Location/Community Information

The city of Coon Rapids is a fast growing community on the Mississippi River just 20 minutes north of Minneapolis-St. Paul, and the metropolitan area's gateway to the northern part of the state. Coon Rapids offers excellent access to highways, dynamic community shopping centers with major retail anchors, and a wide variety of recreational activities including neighborhood and regional parks, a municipal golf course, indoor ice arenas, hiking and biking trails and swimming pools.
