Coordinate and assist the work and activities of the Indian Education Advisors. Perform a full range of managerial functions to support the Indian Education Advisors as needed. Supervise and ensure the fidelity of the implementation of the Indian Education Program as delivered by the Indian Education Advisors. Assist with the integration of cultural activities, through Anoka Hennepin cultural curriculum, with Indian Education Advisors. Assist the Licensed Education Authority (LEA) on gathering data for grants (i.e., Title VII, Success For The Future (SFTF), Johnson O'Malley (JOM), and Integration). Plan and facilitate weekly Indian Education department meeting. Plan and coordinate Elementary, Middle, and High School Field Trips as well as College and Career Readiness activities. Collaborate with District Administration surrounding PreK-12 + Indian Education programming. Act as a liaison and Ad Hoc member of Indian Education Parent Committees (PAC and JOM) and coordinate voting for Indian Education Parent Committee. Participate in the curriculum process, as needed, surrounding the integration of American Indian standards into Art, Music, English Language Arts, and Social Studies. Provide Professional Development Related to Indian Education Advisors SMART Goals. Plan Extended Day Activities including: Picnic, Cultural Evening Activities, Potlucks, Indian Education Cultural Celebrations (each Trimester), Senior Honoring Event. Other duties as assigned.


High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two years post-secondary education in related field. Bachelor's degree preferred. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work closely with parents, staff, administration and community. Knowledge of American Indian culture and language. Must have reliable transportation.


Bachelor's degree preferred. Supervisory experience and program coordinator experience preferred. Demonstrated experience/knowledge gleaned from tribal elders and community members preferred. Specific knowledge of Ojibwe and Dakota history and culture preferred. Fluency or familiarity with either language preferred.

RATE OF PAY: $39,435 and up, DOQ, plus benefits.
