Presbyterian Homes & Services, Management & Services division is seeking an Employee Health Nurse (Occupational Health) to join its team. We are seeking an experienced individual, preferably with Employee Health/Occupational Health Nursing background, to serve PHS Care Center and Senior Housing/Assisted Living communities in the north region. This position requires travel and planned visits to north regional facilities served within the Twin Cities Metro area, and Cambridge, MN.  This is an exempt, full time, benefit eligible position.

Responsibilities: The Regional Employee Health Nurse position exists to promote employee health and the prevention and management of illness and injury within Presbyterian Homes & Services to maximize employee and organizational performance.  This position manages all employee health and safety issues for designated facilities, including:

  • Serving as an employee and PHS advocate related to employee health and safety
  • Ensuring early identification and treatment of injured employees, accurate injury and illness investigation, analysis and recording, early Return to Work following work related injuries or illnesses, establishment and implementation of Temporary Modified Duty during recovery from work related injuries and effective communication and coordination to promptly return injured employees to regular duty.  Serves as the case manager for occupational injuries and illnesses.proactive loss control, training, safety committee partnering, loss trending, partnering with sites to reduce injury rates and severity. 
  • Providing expertise and support to PHS sites in employee health and safety standards
  • Providing injury treatment; tuberculin testing, Hepatitis B and influenza vaccines to the employees
 

Qualifications:
  • Registered Nurse with current licensure MN.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years successful experience as a Registered Nurse in occupational health, acute care, long term care or related, preferably in an occupational health nurse or nurse management role.
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the employees served at designated sites.
  • Previous experience and demonstrated knowledge in Worker’s Compensation, FMLA, ADA and disability laws, employee assessment, DOT, OSHA, and occupational health nursing functions.  Certification as an Occupational Health Nurse preferred.  Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions in each area.
  • High interpersonal, assessment, communication, and negotiation (both oral and written) skills required.  Must be effective at handling sensitive medical and FFD issues and confidential information.
  • Strength in independent decision making, problem solving, and follow through required.
  • Excellent in influencing, consulting, and networking skills.  Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated compatibility with PHS's mission and operating philosophies.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all customers
