Primary Objective:

Provide on-site electrical engineering support for controls related activities including part obsolescence, quality improvements and COS activities.   

Essential Job Functions:

Review and update current electrical drawings and specifications for supply base quoting purposes. Review and determine if electrical suppliers are acceptable to machine performance expectations. Select or re-design PCBA's, wire harnesses, or other electrical circuit components to meet design objectives.  Evaluate and approve electrical design changes, specifications, and drawing releases specific to the electrical design changes. Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company safety standards, government regulations and customer contract requirements. Manage and lead all regulatory agency approvals for related work.  

Required Skills/Abilities:

To solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to develop and debug firmware written in C Able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical schematics or documents. Ability to write presentations that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to management. Demonstrates a strong communication skill set. Must be able to summarize topics and maintain focus on the problem / solution while not being detracted. Must be able to deal with the companies views related to Safety & approvals Ability to communicate through the use of Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.   Demonstrated team leadership and motivation skills Demonstrated advanced planning, communication, teamwork and organization skills  Demonstrated advanced decision making, problem solving and independence skills Knowledgeable and proficient in project management skills and standard industry approval practices Ability to handle a variety of tasks / projects simultaneously  

Education/Experience:  Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution Minimum of 5 years electrical engineering design specific to circuit board design is preferred Working knowledge of UL, CE, CSA, C-tic standards is desired.
