Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to, research with emphasis on health and nursing policy development; technical interpretation/analysis and assessment of proposed government agency regulations for potential impact on nursing and health care; monitoring of governmental agencies; attendance at designated meetings of relevant state and federal agencies, boards, and commissions; act as resource to company members and staff on regulatory and policy issues; assist with development of company response to various and selected legislative issues; ability to articulate, defend, and advance our positions to members of Congress and federal/state governmental agencies; and preparation of reports to staff and membership on regulatory issues and activities.
Education: Registered nurse required. Masters degree or higher in nursing or education required.
Experience: Experience in regulatory/policy advocacy; demonstrated written and analytical skills; demonstrated in-depth knowledge of nursing practice, patient advocacy, and related issues; experience in public role as a social advocate; knowledge of labor unions.
