We have an immediate need for a mechanical design engineer who has experience with the design of web handling equipment.  


Summary: 
Designs equipment for the converting industry with particular focus on the flexible packaging and label markets; knows and understands the mechanics of web-handling and control and has specific experience of slitting and rewinding films, foils, nonwoven and paper based materials; researches, plans and designs mechanical and electromechanical products and systems; maintains the product line including all Engineering aspects, Sales specifications, Manufacturing documentation, along with inventory and Field Service documentation.  
o    Develop and analyze data such as customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.

o    Design products or systems such as re-winders, slitters, or other web handling equipment requiring mechanical, thermal and hydraulic system design that is appropriate and relevant to a range of material types, or to specific one-time applications.

o    Plan and lead Engineering and other teams in the fabrication of re-winders, slitters, or other web handling and associated equipment, and develop methods and procedures for testing products or systems.

Education/Experience:
A Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four-year College or University; or over five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience to meet the position requirements.  An extensive knowledge of a range of materials that include some, or all of the following: films such as PE, LDPE, PET, PP, PVC; paper and paperboard; nonwovens; and unsupported foils.
