Humera is seeking an Accountant I to work for a large grocery retail and supply chain store in their Eden Prairie location. In this position you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing accurate and useful financial information for management. This is a short term contract position.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements, and various other accounting statements and reports
- Prepare, review, and verify the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records
- Conduct special studies and develop or recommend accounting methods and procedures
- Coordinate accounting matters with other departments and locations
- Utilize computer to input, retrieve or display accounting information
- Reconcile and review assigned accounts
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Able to analyze, interpret and, report financial data
- Detail oriented and capable of shifting priorities as necessary
- Capable of working with a team and under minimal supervision
- Prior experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working as an accountant
