Position Summary

Internship experience will vary widely depending on the needs of the intern, the organization, and the environment in which the organization operates. The internship, in collaboration with the University Program in Healthcare Management, is to help prepare students to relate and apply what they have learned in a classroom setting to a health care organization while directly managing projects to support the mission and objectives of Park Nicollet Health Services and expose students to management activities and work to provide analysis and recommendations on key operational activities on care process design and/or financial impact. The internship will be guided by a mutually beneficial set of goals and objectives. They should be developed jointly by the intern to reflect specific needs and by the organization to reflect its forecasted needs for assistance during the internship period. They will identify what the intern needs for professional development and build a resume attractive for career advancement while contributing to the organization’s achieving its objectives. Bachelors degree required & must be enrolled in a higher education program for health care administration. Special Knowledge/Skill/Certifications/Licenses: Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure ability to support service line leaders and administrative leaders. Demonstrates strong analytic skills and confidence in decision making. Demonstrates ability to work collegially with internal and external contacts. The intern will be expected to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
