The Board of Directors of InnerCity Tennis Foundation announces the opening of its Chief Executive Officer position. InnerCity Tennis Foundation (ICTF) is a Minnesota 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, originally founded in 1952 to help young tennis players with limited means pay for equipment, coaching and access to tournament play.

ICTF operates both the programs of InnerCity Tennis and the Reed-Sweatt Family Tennis Center in South Minneapolis and has an annual operating budget of approximately $1.7 million, employing staff of 13 full-time and 9 part-time employees. Kidspeed, ICTF’s early childhood initiative, is a signature program offering physical fitness and development activities for young children for ages 3-6. Kidspeed also offers beginner to advanced tennis group lessons and programming to children and youth age 7 through age 17.

The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for overall management, operation and leadership of the organization, in collaboration with, and reporting to, the Board of Directors. The Chief Executive Officer serves as the primary public presence of InnerCity Tennis, representing ICTF in the community and ensuring strong ongoing contact with donors and the Minneapolis charitable funding community.

The ideal candidate for this position will offer a solid track record of organizational leadership and outstanding interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to relate effectively with diverse constituencies. A working knowledge of finance, budgeting, strategic planning and fundraising will be critical factors in the selection process.

Qualified applicants will be able to demonstrate skill and experience in staff selection and motivation, community relations and youth development. Further key attributes will be an earned reputation for honesty and integrity, strong executive presence, high energy and a passion for excellence.

Additional desired qualities of candidates will include a background in managing sports organizations and operations, volunteer management, special events and facility management.
