Requirements

  • Licensing requirements if educational degree is from an accredited school of social work; BA level = LSW
  •  Independent Living Skills Coach II requires a BA degree in allied behavioral science field from an accredited college or university; less than 2000 hours of experience working with persons with severe to persistent mental illness (SPMI)
  • Independent Living Skills Coach III requires a BA degree in allied behavioral science field, with 2,000 hours, one-year post supervised experience from a mental health professional to persons with severe to persistent mental illness (SPMI)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Proficiency in oral and written communication
  • Well maintained car and safe driving record
  • A valid Minnesota driver’s license and current car insurance
  • Ability to work independently & with the team
  • Ability to work effectively (and remain awake) during nighttime hours

Responsibilities

  • Ensure milieu safety
  • Provide care and welfare of persons served
  • Individual support and coaching
  • Crisis prevention
  • Medication administration/monitoring
  • Progress Note documentation
  • Medical Records support
  • Light Housekeeping

Hours of work:  Wednesday, Staff meeting 3-5pm; Thursday, 7:30pm-8:30am; Friday 8pm-8:30am and Saturday 8pm-8:30am
