Responsibilities:  Spoken language interpreters are responsible for facilitating communication between limited English proficient (LEP) patients and the staff and medical providers of Regions Hospital and HealthPartners Clinics.  This position will primarily provide service to Oromo and Amharic patients at the HealthPartners Midway Clinic and Center for International Health.  In addition to interpreting, interpreters assist with a variety of administrative duties such as making appointment reminder calls, completing utilization and billing forms, and assisting patients with appointment scheduling.

Desired Qualifications:
• High-level proficiency in speaking English, Oromo, and Amharic.  
• Formal academic training in interpreting/translation
• Significant experience working as a professional interpreter, preferably in a health care setting
• Knowledge of the NCIHC interpreter code of ethics and standards of practice
• Excellent customer service skills and computer proficiency
• Applicants will be required to pass an interpreter assessment prior to hire.
