Public Safety Officer FT (2nd Shift)
Work 40 hours per week, Thursday - Monday on the second shift (3:00 p.m. to 11:00 pm). Starting wage range is $12.75 - $13.25 per hour, based on experience, with an additional $.50 shift differential.

Primary function is to provide a safe and secure campus environment by: protecting life and property; preventing and responding to crimes; operating the communications center; and assisting the college community by responding to requests of service. All duties will be carried out in accordance with local, state and federal laws, as well as college policies.
An excellent training program is provided which includes certification in Defensive Tactics, Search & Seizure, Conflict Resolution, Crisis Management and First Aid & C.P.R. All required uniforms and necessary equipment will be supplied by the college.
Qualifications include: High school diploma, or equivalent, required; Associates Degree, preferred. First Aid and CPR certification, preferred. General security experience, particularly in a college environment, preferred. Understanding of law enforcement and the key issues that impact a security officer. Must possess excellent written and oral communication and customer service skills, as well as interpersonal skills. Must have ability to prioritize when dealing with multiple high-priority situations. Basic Microsoft Word experience, helpful. As a condition of employment, applicants will be required to undergo a background check. Applicants will also be required to undergo a Kari Koskinen Manager Background Check. Applicants must possess a valid Minnesota’s driver’s license, good record; and will also be required to undergo a Motor Vehicle DMV Check.
