  • Primary responsibility is to provide pediatric triage to support three Pediatric physicians
  • In addition, this position will also be cross trained to other departments which may include OB/GYN, ENT, Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Urology, Orthopedics, Allergy and Podiatry
  • Perform patient care, prepping, assisting in procedures, sterilization of instruments, circumcision assistance, assessing walk-in patients, administrative and provider support and other duties as assigned (prior authorizations, medication administration and refills via protocol, treatment room coverage) within the scope of practice for the position
  • Use nursing process and effective communication skills to collect and document information about the patient's history, presenting complaint and symptoms in sufficient detail and accuracy to allow appropriate evaluation, classification, advice and disposition of the patient's request
  • Quickly establish rapport on phone or in person with patients and families to determine the nature and acuity of the complaint
  • Will work closely with the pediatric physicians and other nurses in caring for patients
  • Provide appropriate follow-up instructions
  • Exchange relevant information with patients in order to provide general health information and suggested heal maintenance schedules
  • Facilitate appointments if needed
  • Follow through to resolve service problems promptly and professionally, with the involvement of the appropriate specialty clinic personnel


  • Associate or Bachelors degree in Nursing 



  • Prefer 3-5 years nursing experience in the medical field, Pediatrics experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in an ambulatory care setting and one plus years of triage preferred
  • Computer/keyboard familiarity required
  • Experience with EPIC preferred


  • BLS
  • Medical Terminology
  • MN RN license required


  • Effective communication, assessment, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to multitask, particularly with phone or in-person conversations while documenting in an electronic medical record and staying engaged with the patient
  • Balance personal rapport with clinical responsibilities with fluctuating patient volumes and multiple tasks
  • Excellent customer service skills and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize

RN hires with less than 1 year of RN experience must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing (American Association of Colleges of Nursing or The National League for Nursing) which is inclusive of a clinical rotation in an acute care facility.

Work Schedule - Additional Position Details:

  • Full time position (40 hours/week)
  • Day shift (work schedule varies between 7am and 5:30pm)
  • No weekends
  • Non-contract
