Job Summary

-Improve profit margins by increasing effiiciencies, reducing injuries, and protecting assets through the use of automation (robotics, controls, sensors, etc.) and maintenance related activities.  Oversee daily functioning of maintenance and automation department.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

-Oversee and provide technical support for automation and maintenance personnel.

-Provide technical support and automation/maintenance activities to the various departments of the company.

-Assign and monitor tasks and PM's to direct reports.

-Control PM software by adding/removing equipment/tasks as appropriate.

-Schedule/Monitor direct reports time off (vacation, sick time, personal, etc) and punctuality.  Document appropriately according to Bermo's attendance policy.

-Provide employee feedback through evaluations, discipline, etc.

-Drive new employee training via check list.

-Insure that necessary equipment has LOTO procedures available.

-Maintain maintenance related data required by regulatory agencies: LOTO lock list, Pressure vessel list.

-Insure that all contractors that work at supply proof of liability and workers comp insurance.   Maintain documentation.  

Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

-Technical degree and experience in automation, programming, robotics required.

-Prefer understanding of OSHA and safety requirements pertaining to the materials and equipment used in maintenance and automation.  

Reporting Relationships

-Reports to General Manager 

-Has the following Direct Reports: Automation/Robotics Technicians and Maintenance Technicians.  

Requires a 2-year degree in a related field and 5+ years of experience. Maintenance experience is required as is Supervisory experience (must have had supervisory duties previously).
