Job Description:
This position will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing, communications and community relations strategies for the MS Society - Minnesota Chapter, as well as create a unified community relations program to utilize media and other community partners to further market and develop programs goals.
Duties will include:
• Plan, develop and oversee implementation of the chapter marketing plan.
• Work with programs, advocacy, development and major gifts team to plan, develop and execute an array of strategically sound marketing plans.
• Help identify and implement the appropriate assessment tools and methodology to better target, influence and engage key customer groups.
• Develop, monitor and oversee the project schedule for all assigned marketing plans, including cross-functional deliverables and timeline checkpoints, rollout and communication.
• Manage crisis communications and serve as spokesperson for the chapter.
• Lead the development, planning and implementation of a unified community relations program.
• Supervise staff, interns and volunteers.
• Oversee the publishing of chapter materials.
• Oversee chapter Web site and e-marketing activities
Knowledge and Experience:
• BA in marketing, communications or related field preferred
• Five years of progressive marketing experience, at least two years in management
• Understanding of Web 2.0, e-marketing and integrated market planning systems
• Ability to identify market and community opportunities and engage the appropriate resources to further the society’s mission.
• Experience in media relations, volunteer engagement, and writing/editing.
• Nonprofit experience a plus.
