Education: Graduate of an accredited program in nursing. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience: Two years experience in a mental health setting with experience in a behavioral health clinic preferred

Primary function: works collaboratively with clinic psychiatrists and supports primarily adult population with coverage in child and adolescent population when needed. Requires knowledge of developmental stages across the lifespan and the ability to assess and document concerns. Provides telephone care for this clinic population and supports psychiatrist practice. Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed. Must be comfortable interacting across disciplines with a diverse population. Prioritizes telephone calls to the clinic and intervenes in an appropriate and timely manner. Must have knowledge of crisis intervention, psychiatric diagnoses, psychotropic medications / side effects as well as behavioral interventions. Collaborates with community organizations / services when needed. Awareness of outpatient and inpatient facilities, county services and support networks. Coordinates patient education needs. Willingness to seek out behavioral health educational materials for the clinic setting. Documentation and communication through the use of the electronic medical record. Must be competent in computer use.
