The Division of Health Policy and Management (HPM), School of Public Health, University of Minnesota is recruiting three researchers to be located at and support the research mission of HPM’s State Health Access Data Assistance Center (SHADAC), a research and technical assistance center that conducts surveys related to health insurance coverage and access to care and provides access and technical assistance to states and researchers on use of data from national surveys including the Current Population Survey, the American Community Survey, and National Health Interview Survey.
Senior Research Fellow -- Data Center Director
The successful candidate will direct the new SHADAC data center to document and distribute public data from the CPS and the ACS for state policy research and oversee all aspects of the data center. This 75%-100% time, 12-month appointment is annually renewable, dependent upon continued availability of funding, and offers the standard University benefits. Salary is based on experience and qualifications. The position is open until filled.
Senior Research Fellow -- Deputy Director
The successful candidate will serve as the Technical Assistance (TA) Project Deputy Director for the State Health Access Program (SHAP), located at SHADAC, and will play a significant role in managing and working closely with the Program Director/Principal Investigator to develop and implement a multi-year national technical assistance program for 13 state-level grantees of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) State Health Access Program grants, (http://www.hrsa.gov/statehealthaccess/default.htm). Research Fellow
The successful candidate will have a significant role in data analysis and providing access to data and research information for SHADAC clients. The Research Fellow will also participate in developing and managing a variety of outreach, communication, and dissemination strategies related to SHADAC’s mission of providing technical assistance to enhance access to and use of data and technical information by state-level health policy makers and analysts. Ongoing collaborative work with SHADAC faculty, staff and outside collaborators will be an important part of this position’s responsibilities. The position will provide tailored technical assistance directly to clients and will contribute to the production of SHADAC products, including reports and issue briefs. In addition, duties will include coordinating with faculty and Graduate Research Assistants to ensure the use of appropriate survey databases, as well as building a library of commonly used routines on essential databases.
