Unity Hospital, located in Fridley, Minn. serves the northern metropolitan communities
with a full continuum of care and services and is known for its expertise in bariatrics
and obstetrical care. With 1,500 employees and 220 staffed beds, Unity provides
inpatient and outpatient services to more than 107,000 patients each year. It shares
its nearly 842-physician medical staff with Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, Minn.
The Nursing Assistant (NA) provides direct patient care as delegated by the Registered
Nurse. This is accomplished through the major job components of care giving, role
modeling, quality/resource stewardship and patient advocacy/customer service in
partnership practice.
Education: High school graduate or GED. Successful completion of vocational course,
or completion of one clinical rotation in an RN/LPN nursing program. CPR certification
within 90 days of hire.
Experience: Acute or long-term care facility experience preferred. Basic knowledge
of medical terminology. The ability to establish effective relationships with health
care team members. Ability to prioritize and organize tasks in a fast paced environment.
Demonstrated self directedness. Customer service skills. Computer skills.
Skills: Basic knowledge of medical terminology and hospital procedures. The ability
to establish effective relationships with patients, families and health care team
members. Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
Demonstrated experience in providing excellence in customer service. Strong computer
skills and experience working within an electronic medical record. Strong English
communication skills in reading, writing, verbal comprehension and clear verbal
expression.
Part time position (28 hours per week)
Evening Shifts
Every other weekend rotation
