Clinical Laboratory Scientist

* Job Description:  
- Processing and set up of primary cultures.
-  Perform technical procedures such as reading cultures, identification of bacteria using biochemical tests, gram stains, bacterial antigen testing, use of automated instruments such as BACTEC and Vitek in the Clinical Microbiology laboratory.
- Keep accurate records of work performed.
- Teach students in Clinical Laboratory Science and Clinical Pathology program.
- Be able to investigate methods and set up new procedures, resolve problems.
- Participate in seminars and continuing education.
-  Answer telephones, look up patient results.
- Assume responsibility for proper care and maintenance of equipment.
-  Other duties as needed.  
 

Qualifications
Baccalaureate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology which includes a laboratory practicum along with eligibility to receive or receipt of MT (ASCP), CLS (NCA), or ASCP or NCA certification specific to Microbiology.
