To operate a safe, efficient shuttle service and provide information on Hyland Hills facilities and programs in a manner that will create a positive customer experience and a favorable image of Three Rivers Park District.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Courteously greets and transports park patrons between designated park areas in a helpful, safe and efficient manner.
  • Operates the shuttle van in a safe and efficient manner according to Park District rules and regulations.  Assures that all posted regulations, Minnesota statutes, county or municipal traffic codes are adhered to.
  • Assists park guests boarding and exiting the shuttle as necessary.
  • 2. Answers park guest questions and provides information on park facilities and programs, and, as directed, gives brief interpretive presentations.

    3. Keeps work area/equipment clean, orderly, and free from hazards including performing required safety inspections of the shuttle.

    4. As assigned, functions as attendant at rental, gate, and/or concession areas.

    5. Performs other related duties as apparent or assigned.

    Experience and Experience
    Minimum 18 years of age. Valid Class C Minnesota Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement.  Ability to operate Park District shuttle bus in a safe manner.
    Language Skills
    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write simple reports.  Ability to speak effectively on a one-to-one basis with employees and park guests.
    Certificates and Registrations
    When assigned to operate shuttle vehicle, must have a valid Minnesota Class C Driver's License with passenger endorsement, be at least 18 years of age, and have a clear driving record. 
    Communication Skills
    Ability to communicate with the public in a positive, friendly manner and positively represent Three Rivers Park District to the general public.  Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with the general public and Park District personnel.
    Mathematical Skills
    Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.  Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
    Reasoning Ability
    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
    Other Skills and Abilities
    Ability to be diplomatic and pleasant under stress conditions. Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete a variety of work tasks.  Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with park guests, organizations, and Park District employees. 
    Physical Demands
    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
    While performing the duties of this assignment, the employee is required to walk on uneven and snow covered terrain; use hand and arms to handle and manipulate objects, tools, or controls.  The employee is regularly required to drive and operate Park District vehicles for the purpose of transporting Park Guests.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
    Work Environment
    The employee is regularly required to drive Park District guests using a Park District vehicle.  The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions with regular exposure to cold, often below zero degrees and low wind chill. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

    Selection Procedure
    A fully completed Three Rivers Park District Online Application must be received by Human Resources. This position is Open until Filled.  Any materials received after the closing date and time will not be considered. Applications will be evaluated on the basis of relevant experience and training. A top group of applicants will be invited to participate in further job screening. 
    Final appointment is contingent upon the applicant passing a background investigation including a criminal history search. Costs of the background will be paid for by Three Rivers Park District.
