PRIMARY FUNCTIONAt Target, we've made significant investments in our proprietary digital marketing capabilities. These capabilities enable Target to deliver timely and personalized marketing messages; for our own marketing initiatives and for our partners. One of these investments is Bullseye Marketplace. Developed within the walls of Target, Bullseye Marketplace is a curated digital media marketplace; spanning Video, Display, Social, Mobile and Native advertising today with plans for expansion into TV and Audio media. Bullseye curates the open web for Target through data and automation. We have recently created an entrepreneurial role that will lead the analysis, reporting and optimization strategy for Bullseye Marketplace. Ultimately this role will positively impact Guest reach and deliver media cost efficiencies.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Analyze inventory allocation and pricing (fixed and variable) for all Bullseye marketplace media inventory (includes Target Owned and Operated Media,, et al)
  • Forecast inventory availability and sell through, employing statistical analysis and modeling when needed
  • Develop quantitative analysis, ad hoc reports and models to support decision making
  • Analyze buyer/seller behavior to identify trends to ultimately optimize pricing
  • Create business and pricing rules based on market value, inventory supply/demand, targeting and data best practices
  • Employ in-depth understanding of ad functionality, supply and demand, and delivery mechanisms to achieve operational scale
  • Collaborate with cross functional groups including media activation, sales, media strategy, partner agencies, ad product, and finance to identify pricing and revenue opportunities
  • Create and maintain reporting, forecasting models, and dashboards to communicate marketplace performance
  • Create intermediate to advanced data queries to compile and analyze relevant data

  • Member of the Digital Marketing and Media Team (Marketing Pyramid)
  • Reports to: Sr. Manager, Bullseye Operations
  • Key external constituents include: data integration, matching and distribution partners (Acxiom, Oracle, Experian), media publishers, ad tech partners such as Google, Rubicon, Media Math and others
  • Key internal constituents include: Bullseye Marketplace Publisher Lead, TGA Activation Team, Target Media Network, Target Media Strategy and Target Category Marketing
  • B.S. and/or B.A. (4 years)
  • Graduate degree in Economics, Statistics or other quantitative field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in digital marketing
  • 3+ years of ad tech experience
  • 3+ years of dedicated pricing, yield management and/or inventory management
  • Inquisitive mindset and outcome focused personality
  • Track record of analyzing data and delivering results
  • Automated media buy/sell experience (DSP/SSP/Ad Serving) a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to tell a story through data; Excel and Powerpoint skills
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, SAS and/or other business analytics software preferred
  • Knowledge of financial modeling
  • Strong mathematical, statistical and analytical skills
