JOIN US AS A LEAD ENGINEER - COLLABORATION TOOLSSimilar Industry Titles and Key Words:  Microsoft Lync, Microsoft Skype for Business, Unified Communications EngineerWe are looking to become a hybrid cloud consumer of a suite of tools in the collaboration space, and we are looking for a Senior Engineer who has a diversified experience as such! The role includes end-to-end ownership of the On-Premise Microsoft Lync 2013 Server/Skype for Business Client, as well as ownership in analyzing alternate Unified Communications products.  Ownership responsibilities include understanding industry trends and direction, defining client requirements, analysis of alternate products, piloting, testing, implementing, operations and lifecycle management (including upgrades and patching), vendor engagement, creating knowledge for first/second level support partners, Level 3 support of the platforms and ownership in some of the infrastructure supporting the platform. Use your skills, experience and talents to be a part of groundbreaking thinking and visionary goals.  
  • Lead the analysis, testing, potential migration and support efforts for alternate Unified Communications platforms including emerging cloud-based solutions  
  • Act as a Microsoft Lync 2013 Server/Skype for Business Client Engineer driving strategy, implementation, application/patching packaging and deployment, system administration and management
  • Develop monitoring for platform hardware, software and other technical components in the environments, utilizing open source tools
  • Collaborate with global team (India/US) to develop and execute consistent technical build, operational and support processes on infrastructure and application components
  • Create/update knowledge articles and coordinate with support partner teams to transition product support opportunities
  • Act as level 3 escalation and troubleshoot platform incidents as needed
  • 24x7 On-Call (rotation) responsibilities required
  • Provide preventative maintenance, troubleshoot and quickly resolve problems to ensure infrastructure and application stability
  • Have knowledge of and collaborate with partner teams from supporting environments including Network, Load Balancers, Server, Database, and Security
  • Establish and maintain vendor partnerships; collaborate with and provide work direction to vendor partners as needed
  • Strong technical knowledge in the following areas is required:Lync 2013/Skype for Business Server, Microsoft Office 2010/2013/2016, Exchange Unified Messaging, Active Directory, PKI, Windows Server 2012, SQL 2012, SCCM
  • Strong PowerShell scripting skills and other automation experience required
  • Alternate Unified Communication platform experience desired
  • Cloud migration experience desired
  • Network infrastructure knowledge desired (e.g. load balancers (F5), firewalls, DNS, DHCP)
  • Server infrastructure knowledge desired (e.g., Cisco, Dell, Hyper-V, VMWare)
  • Agile (Kanban/Scrum) project management methodology experience beneficial
Requirements

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience
  • 7-9 years total work experience
  • Has in-depth knowledge of state-of-the art engineering technical approaches in design, build, testing, debugging problems as required by domain
  • Maintains technical knowledge within areas of expertise
  • Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education
Preferred Requirements
  • Has experience with Cloud collaboration tools - required
  • Has previous indirect team leadership experience
