  • Leads and participates in complex construction, automation, and implementation activities ensuring successful implementation while meeting architectural and operational requirements.
  • Apply Linux experience to improve automation of server implementation and management practices - Experience with automation coding capabilities associated with Chef a plus
  • Influence roadmaps and standards for the server hardware, operating system, and related technologies
  • Utilize standard enterprise tools to develop or implement infrastructure hardware, software or other technical components
  • Lead or set strategy for testing and debugging at the platform or enterprise level
  • Provide preventative maintenance strategies, participate in troubleshooting and aid in quickly resolving problems to ensure infrastructure and application stability
  • Collaborate with team to promote re-use and develop consistent technical build, implementation and support processes
  • Provides subject matter expertise to help skill up team members
  • Ability to collaborate up and down the chain in both the infrastructure and application stacks
  • Work with multiple teams, management and architects to ensure systems are in line with overall IT policies and standards
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience
  • 7-9 years total work experience
  • Has in-depth knowledge of state-of-the art engineering technical approaches in design, build, testing, debugging problems as required by domain
  • Maintains technical knowledge within areas of expertise and stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education
 Preferred Experience:
  • Expert in Multiplatform operating systems with an emphasis in Linux (RHEL/CentOS 6/7 and Windows or any other Linux Variant - Debian/Ubuntu) - REQUIRED
  • Deep experience in scripting skills in Ruby, Bash, PowerShell, ksh, sed, awk - REQUIRED
  • Ability to mentor/train coworkers - REQUIRED
  • Hands-On experience managing virtualized environments utilizing KVM, Hyper-V, Xen, Openstack on FC, iSCSI, NFS storage
  • Hands-On experience managing HA/Clustered environments (RHEV, oVirt, VCS)
  • Working knowledge of patch deployment and software distribution tools (YUM, Chef, RPM, Spacewalk)
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipeline (git, chef, jenkins)
  • Working knowledge of monitoring and analytics tools (Sensu, ELK, Splunk) a plus
  • Clustering Technologies:  Veritas Cluster Service, Power HA, Red Hat Cluster, SUN Cluster, Windows failover clustering
  • Tools:  Chef/Puppet/Ansible, OpenStack, Satellite, VMWare virtualization (VCloud, VSphere, vCenter), UCS Central
