Ranked Faculty - Department of Psychology
The Department of Psychology invites applicants for full time tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor beginning in August 2017, pending budget approval. The Psychology Department is among the top 5 most popular undergraduate majors at St. Catherine University and includes tracks for graduate degrees in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Public Health. The Department serves an increasingly diverse student population with the most ethnically diverse student population among four-year institutions in Minnesota. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
Responsibilities: This faculty member will teach six courses in the undergraduate psychology program at St. Catherine University during the academic year. Successful applicants will be able to: teach traditional and adult student populations in person and in online environments; teach an advanced lab course in their area of expertise and department courses such as General Psychology and Research Methods; teach one of the University's core courses; develop an active program of research; collaborate with undergraduate students in research; advise and mentor students; provide service to the Department and University; and effectively contribute to the highly collaborative work of the Department.
Requirements: PhD (or ABD) with specialization in health or community psychology is required by August 2017; commitment to teaching and advising a diverse undergraduate student body and mentoring students in collaborative research; demonstrated record of conducting and disseminating empirical research.
Preferred Requirements: Prior record of excellent teaching; research focus on culture and diversity; demonstrated skills in advising, mentoring and teaching students from diverse backgrounds; interest in teaching additional courses, such as: Cross-Cultural Psychology and History & Systems.
