Ware is seeking a Drafter/Designer for a position with a unique company located in the north metro. Our client specializes in blending architectural, structural and ascetically pleasing designs for construction projects. You will analyze architectural/engineering proposals and develop initial design, work plans, detailed drawings, and 3D models for conversion of design data to fabrication data for pre-curved cold-formed steel framing. - Analyze data, drawings and proposed project specifications to determine feasibility of project proposal. - Develop framing design, conferring with other company personnel when necessary to resolve problems. - Consult with customers to clarify project specifications and provide value engineering ideas. - Prepare 3D models, shop drawings and diagrams for use in conversion of design data to fabrication data during design development and fabrication / construction. - May be involved in directing or coordinating fabrication of building components. - Evaluate results for future applications. - May be involved in the development and advancement of automation of design and fabrication processes Requirements: - Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Mechanical and/or Architectural Design; or 4+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. College degree preferred. - Commercial design/construction background and cold-formed steel framing knowledge highly desired. - Ability to comprehend and apply principles of algebra and geometry is essential. - Proficiency with 3D design software, (i.e. SolidWorks, Rhino, Catia, Digital Project, or Revit) is required. - An individual should also have knowledge of; Word Processing software (Word); Spreadsheet software (Excel); Graphics software (Adobe products – Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign); PDF creation and editing software (Acrobat / Bluebeam). - Knowledge of Design AND Construction - Capable of Hand Sketching, Computational Design, Design to Fabrication - Proficiency with programming and coding / scripting is highly desired (i.e. Grasshopper and/or Dynamo, C#, Python, VB.Net, Java, Processing, etc.).
