Director, Business Intelligence - Goldfish

This Opportunity Is Located In Seattle WA

Are you interested in being part of a fast-paced team working on revolutionizing the way people shop? Are you passionate about designing business intelligence solutions that empower users to solve complex challenges?

We are looking for a Director of Business Intelligence to build and scale business metrics and performance analysis of the Goldfish platform. You will build a team of engineers and analysts, with a strong background in data instrumentation, data extraction, dashboard creation, and advanced analytics. You will leverage today's most innovative business intelligence solutions to instrument all processes and Customer operations and make Goldfish the most robust, data obsessed ecommerce platform. You will champion data-driven decision making and enable the Goldfish team to be uncompromisingly detail oriented, smart and efficient.

The candidate will be able to support their work with hard data and demonstrate the ability to dive deep in understanding the product, our business, and our much-loved customer. To be successful, you will demonstrate a mix of team management, project management, operational excellence, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Hire and develop the best team to instrument all platform operations and inform all actions

Ensure that your team has all the resources, tools and processes it needs to be successful

Design and implement a vast, scalable data warehouse and BI solutions

Build a platform-wide Business Intelligence/Voice of the customer program that integrates Customer and Platform insights into daily operations and the continual innovation process

Apply best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and robust documentation

Benchmarks industry technology and business intelligence best practices to ensure competitive advantage

Basic Qualifications:

10+ years of relevant experience, with clearly demonstrated professional and management capabilities

Able to write SQL scripts for analysis and reporting (SQL, MySQL)

Experience using one or more of the following programming languages: Python, Perl, Ruby, Java, C++

Proficiency with TABLEAU, Microsoft Excel. Adept at data manipulation and presentation, and analysis.

Excellent written and verbal communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams

Business knowledge of the high-tech industry

Preferred Qualifications:

Passion for being hands-on and diving into the details

Prior experience managing a Business Intelligence team in an ecommerce marketplace environment

Master's degree or higher in Engineering, Math, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, or other technical field
