Residential Property Appraiser OR Sr. Residential Appraiser
In this position you’ll perform valuation and classification of property for tax assessment purposes to include, performing field inspections, maintaining accurate information in a mass appraisal system, analyzing real estate sales, applying accurate methods to the valuation process, responding to taxpayers concerns, resolving formal and informal appeals, and testifying at local and county boards of review, and tax court proceedings. Depending on certifications, this position may be filled as either a Residential Property Appraiser or a Sr. Residential Appraiser.
MQs: Bachelor’s degree in real estate or a related field OR 3 yrs of progressively responsible assessment experience and a Certified MN Assessor License OR 3 yrs appraisal experience and a Residential Appraisal License through the MN Dept. of Commerce. Must obtain MN CMA designation within 1 yr of hire. Coursework through the MN Dept. of Revenue, IAAO is highly desirable. Valid driver’s license required. As a condition of continued employment, persons with a CMA certification must obtain licensure as an Accredited Minnesota Assessor (AMA) by July 1, 2019 or within four years of having become licensed as a CMA, whichever is later. AMA is required for Sr. Residential Appraiser.
Residential Appraiser: $50,243-$75,364,
Sr. Residential Appraiser: $57,515-$86,273.
