Director, Risk Management - Goldfish

What would you do to create a trusted online marketplace where buyers and sellers can safely transact? What kinds of systems and processes would you build to minimize the risk of fraud and bad Customer experiences?

We are looking for a Director of Risk Management to design and build the processes required to minimize risk and maximize trust in the Goldfish platform. You and your team will protect all aspects of the Goldfish shopping experience, including merchant and product compliance, performance and fraud. To be successful, you must develop industry-leading infrastructure, develop new points of control and tighten current ones to block fraud with minimal disruption of good selling activity. Your team will be accountable for independent discretion based decisions, involving tradeoffs with significant bottom-line Financial impact/risk. Accordingly, you must set goals that drive consistent performance and measurable improvements in specific metrics for fraud prevention, user experience, and increased perception of safety for the site.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Hire and develop the best team to maintain trust in our platform

Ensure that your team has all the resources, tools and processes it needs to be successful

Build and manage a real-time detection infrastructure to evaluate patterns indicative of risk

Develop and maintain policies to safeguard the Goldfish Customer experience

Develop robust and effective risk enforcement processes

Benchmark industry technology and risk mitigation best practices to ensure competitive advantage

Determine needs and analyze areas of improvement. Ensure the correct projects and programs to improve results are identified and delivered

Set clear, measurable quality goals for your organization in a data-driven way

Think big on behalf of your team and Goldfish Customers. Leverage technology to efficiently tackle the wide range of Fraud & Risk problems

Basic Qualifications:

7+ years work experience in relevant field

5+ years of cross-functional experience working alongside and influencing senior leadership teams

Excellent written and verbal communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams

Strong project management and analytical skills

Business knowledge of the high-tech industry

Preferred Qualifications:

Passion for being hands-on and diving into the details

Prior experience managing risk in an ecommerce marketplace environment

MS/MA degree in a related subject
