Responsibilities: Overview: 

 

Bilingual Sales Assessment Consultant fluent in Spanish and English and passionate about helping improve the teaching and learning of ELL students through the use of sound assessments. ELL is the fastest growing segment of the US K – 12 public school population.
The ELL Sales Assessment Consultant is a highly consultative position focused on selling the LAS LINKS family of assessment solutions to School Districts in California and Arizona. Primary responsibilities include developing key relationships within the ELL marketplace; understanding customer needs, trends and issues; meeting target sales goals, and expanding DRC/CTB’s reputation for quality.


Specific Responsibilities:
• Develop an overall sales and business development strategy for targeted school districts.
• Attend and present at local, state, and district ELL and assessment meetings/conferences.
• Keep abreast of ELL policy, practices, and issues affecting public schools in California and Arizona. Know the landscape of targeted districts: mission, key initiatives, challenges, funding.
• Build effective networks within ELL communities and with decision makers.
• Implement marketing plans in tandem with ELL team, sales teams, and marketing management.
• Efficiently and effectively follow up with and manage all leads and opportunities (phone, web, referral, self-generated, etc.)
• Partner with internal resources to respond to bids and requests for proposals, providing text and representing DRC/CTB at hearings and related meetings
• Sell the value and features of the LAS LINKS family using a solution selling approach
• Conduct online product demonstrations of the LAS LINKS suite to district personnel : Interpret online digital assessment information showing alignment with state standards
• Grow business in existing accounts
• Prospect and develop revenue in new accounts, working in tandem with regional sales rep and/or sales management as appropriate.
• Periodically troubleshoot technical issues with customers before escalating to technical support
• Organize, maintain, and report account data and activity; utilize customer management software programs such as salesforce.com.
• Travel approximately 50% throughout California/Arizona.
• Work remotely

 

Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Passion and drive to share expertise and help ELL students and teachers improve achievement.
• 5 – 10 years minimum successful experience working with ELL curriculum and assessment for a school district, with classroom teaching a plus or 5 – 10 years minimum successful outside sales experience (preferably K – 12) solution selling ELL solutions to School District leaders, including Superintendents and Directors.

• In-depth knowledge and expertise in ELL education including state and federal regulations, practices, issues, trends, opportunities. Passion for ELL and its nationwide importance.

    • Ability to close sales and meet annual sales goals.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills – ability to relate well with customer base
    • Strong technical computer skills, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and database skill.
    • Analytical skills to understand, interpret, and align digital information
    • Organization skills, time management, a self-starter, self-discipline, perseverance
    • Team player – externally within communities and internally with DRC/CTB staff.
    • Ability to travel 50%
    • Bachelor’s degree

  • Preferred Requirements:
    • Master’s Degree in related field
    • Classroom teaching
    • Experience with assessments and curriculum
    • Experience with LAS LINKS
