NETWORK ENGINEERPosition DescriptionThis position is responsible to ensure effective and efficient infrastructure system functionality, including data center, data closet, desktop systems and peripherals with focus on voice and data network systems. Accountable for the stability and integrity of voice, data, video, and wireless network services. Plan, design, and develop voice and data network infrastructure across the organization. Collaborate with business partners, technical teams, and end users to successfully develop and implement UCare infrastructure systems. Collaborate with the Technical Services Manager, business teams, and external partners to understand business needs and implement forward thinking solutions. Act as a subject matter expert for IS policies and procedures.·Provide the technical connection across UCare to create technical solutions that are flexible, resilient, scalable, and bring business value, emphasizing continuous business productivity improvement and minimizing business downtime.·Understand, solve for and communicate effectively on network and voice issues. Participate in the planning and implementation of UCare's voice and data network infrastructure improvements.·Align business goals and infrastructure to support the business and help achieve its goals.
·Ensure documentation of current state and provide a roadmap for future of network and voice systems that aligns with business strategy and goals·Collaborate with Project Leads to implement projects from a technological perspective and interact with all areas and levels of the organization. ·Collaborate with the Technology Services Manager, IS and the business to advise on key network and voice decisions concerning the platform and the supporting technologies.·Collaborate with external vendors and managed services to ensure acceptable service is delivered for voice and network services.
·Collaborate with Service Desk and Application Support to mentor and provide documentation for operational support of voice and network systems where applicable.
·Serve as part of a team in the planning and implementation of UCare's business continuity and disaster recovery processes for infrastructure systems.
·Review changes/enhancements to infrastructure and make recommendations related to deploying enhancements to UCare's environment.·Other projects and duties as assigned.EducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.Required ExperienceSix or more years of experience designing, building, and managing network and voice systems in an enterprise environment. Experience in working closely with management to ensure that systems and solutions align with business strategies and goals. In-depth knowledge of network design, planning and implementing LANs, WANs and wireless networks with knowledge of applicable security, data privacy practices and laws. Knowledge of Cisco Communication Manager, Call Center Express, Quality Management, Unity, voice gateways, Jabber and Telepresence. Ability to support, maintain, and manage Call Center operations in a dynamically changing environment. Knowledge of and experience in managing Cisco network and telephony hardware, F5 load balancers, Cisco ASA firewalls, ASR, 3850, 5596, 9148 switches and 3945 routers.Preferred ExperienceCisco CCNA or CCDA certification. Knowledge of Windows Server, VMware, Linux/Unix, and storage networking. Experience implementing ITIL methodologies.
