Marketing Category Management Specialist
Digital People is looking for a Marketing Category Management Specialist to join the team of an amazing client in Mendota Heights! In this role, you will be managing, developing, and implementing product marketing activities to maximize sales of product lines/categories. In addition, you will be responsible for setting a category vision/strategy, will own the category roadmap and remain knowledgeable of the competitive landscape. Responsibilities: Assist in defining and executing the product strategy and roadmap to maximize revenue and margin growth. Managing strategic targets and provides guidance on product assortment recommendations. Vendor negotiations, product line reviews/sku rationalization/gaps, assortment optimization, engagement in product forecasting, and category profitability. Provide financial analysis of sales, competitive data compilation, and business and industry analysis of consumer trends. Develop and implement product strategies, offerings, marketing plans, promotional programs and related activities. Gather and prioritize product and customer requirements. Work closely with sales, marketing, regulatory, procurement and logistics to ensure regulatory requirements, revenue targets and customer satisfaction goals are met. Identify category and competitive trends in areas of product differentiation, pricings, service, cost structure and market size. Recommends programs and tactical and strategic adjustments as needed to maximize financial performance to ensure top and bottom line growth, ie: new products, product enhancements, and promotions. Work with manufacturing partners to assess product assortment/availability and fulfill sourcing regulatory requirements. Initiate and interpret market research and monitor and assess competitive products. Develop sales tools, training materials and collateral for customer and field sales team while working with strategy team to create on-line exposure and customer acquisition Understand the process and assist when necessary with customer and product on-boarding as well as legal and regulatory queues (update policies/contract language) Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field 3+ years of medical device, pharmaceutical, biological industry or healthcare product marketing and/or sales experience. Demonstrated project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures.
