Regional Operations Manager

The Metropolitan Mosquito Control District, a multi-county public agency, currently intends to fill a regular management full-time position in its job classification of Regional Operations Manager.  This position is based out of the District's Anoka facility. 

Duties include planning and managing the surveillance and control operations for mosquitoes, black flies and ticks; directing and conducting effective training and management of staff; assisting in the development of programs, and facilitating the effective maintenance and security of facilities, vehicles and equipment.

This position requires strong leadership and team building skills, quality computer skills, along with the ability to clearly communicate with the public and other governmental entities.  Understanding of biological concepts equivalent to a degree in biology or other life sciences and three to five years of field operation supervisory experience, or the equivalent, is necessary.  In addition, the knowledge and understanding of the public health impacts of mosquito and tick-borne diseases.

The successful candidate should have good conflict resolution skills, and should have demonstrated effectiveness in handling employee relations, maintaining a safety culture, and providing exceptional customer responses.  He/she should also possess exceptional organizational and planning skills, along with the ability to interact effectively with all employees, commission members and the public.  A valid driver's License is required.
