Join us as a Senior Logistics Analyst Transportation
This role is responsible for sourcing, analyzing and negotiating for domestic transportation. The role is focused on securing capacity solutions which deliver consistency at an optimized cost for multiple transportation modes. Set sourcing strategy and create project plans for bid events to help Target achieve transportation goals.Responsibilities
  • Reviewing, analyzing, and negotiating capacity solutions to support Domestic (US) business across Truckload, Intermodal, Dedicated, Refrigerated, LTL, Air, and Consolidation.
  • Working closely with transportation operational teams to determine capacity needs and bid requirements
  • Planning and execution of sourcing strategy across multiple events; ensuring accurate and timely pricing
  • Creating, reviewing, completing and maintaining Carrier and Shipper Agreements
  • Reviewing and negotiating 3rd party provider contracts (Carrier and 3PL)
  • Collaborating with legal department regarding contracts and other legal matters
  • Monitoring and reviewing carrier performance vs expectations with operational teams; supporting carrier performance management
  • Developing and executing analysis and reports pertaining to historical/current transportation network plans and data
  • Owning multiple 3rd party provider relationships and performance management. (Carrier and 3PL)
  • Evaluates and screens potential new carriers for domestic transportation services
  • Leading projects as assigned and delegating responsibility to others within the team for contribution to the projects
  • Coordinating and enhancing reporting to support daily, weekly, and monthly activities
  • Point of escalation for operations involving addition of new business or removal of carrier business due to performance or costing issues
  • Sources and secures capacity for one-off volume spikes out of concentrated vendor or facility locations
  • 4-year degree
  • 3+ years of relevant experience within supply chain, logistics, sourcing/procurement, transportation industry
  • Proven expertise in modeling and pricing transportation networks
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly in difficult situations
  • Proven ability to effectively collaborate with multiple business partners (internal and external)
  • Ability to develop relationships, both internally and externally, and work in a team environment
  • Proven ability in performance management of 3rd party providers
  • Project management experience
  • Negotiations experience
  • Self-motivated and demonstrates initiative; demonstrates ability to work independently
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to sort through ambiguity and work in undefined projects
  • Strong ability to plan, manage, and prioritize time/tasks effectively
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word
Desired Requirements
  • Experience with SAP, SciQuest, or equivalent sourcing tool
  • Knowledge of general supply chain planning concepts
  • Working knowledge of Transportation EDI standards
  • Transportation Systems experience including working knowledge of JDA transportation management solutions
