Woodshop Coordinator - Mission Lodge - Part Time
Missions Inc. Programs is a multi-service non-profit organization with a long history of providing services to those who are most in need, each year offering thousands of men and women, whose lives have been severely disrupted by chronic addiction, homelessness, and domestic violence, safety, housing, support services, and the opportunity to make real change in their lives. Chemical dependency services are provided through four programs. Our Mission Lodge provides transitional housing for men and women in recovery.

Mission Lodge, a program of Missions Inc., is seeking applicants for a part-time Woodshop Coordinator. Mission Lodge is an 89-bed residential program for men and women who are chronically chemically dependent. The Woodshop Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of shop operations, including teaching new skills to residents who are part of our Lodge work program. This position reports to the Program Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Areas of responsibility include providing training, motivation and supervision to residents assigned to the woodshop through our work program; coordinating woodworking projects; supervising the construction and installation of assigned woodworking tasks; maintaining detailed records of project expenses; responsibility for the purchase and maintenance of woodshop tools supplies and equipment; maintain confidentiality of residents in accordance with confidentiality laws; complete knowledge of all emergency procedures; and other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
Experience and Qualifications :
- Minimum three years of training or experience in skilled woodworking.
- If chemically dependent, two years of uninterrupted sobriety is required.
- Proven ability to supervise and train workers.
- Sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds of our residents and ability to act in ways that project fairness and equality.
- Ability to work well with people from diverse racial, cultural, social and economic backgrounds.
- Samples of wood shop project work available.
