FINANCIAL ANALYST - Rate Development


Position Description

This position is responsible for fee schedule development and analysis of provider impact relating to provider payment structures with primary focus on Prospective Payment System (PPS) Groups and Pricers. Communicate results to provider groups.  Specific duties and responsibilities include:


·         Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of UCare provider contracts, benefit packages, and claim processing procedures.

·         Lead analyst for the Prospective Payment System (PPS) Pricer methodology analytics.

·         Conduct product claims repricing as needed.

·         Analyze current and future contract arrangements for the financial impact to UCare as well as the Provider related to fee schedules.

·         Development and analysis of new fee schedules.

·         Develop rate/volume differential reporting by code.

·         Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.

·         Develop and maintain documentation and procedures for standard projects.

·         Assist in analysis of performance by contract for rate setting and budgeting purposes.

·         Contracting in contracts-related information requests.



BS/BA with an emphasis in finance/accounting or related field. 

Required Experience

Three years experience in Finance or Accounting.

Preferred Experience

Knowledge of the HMO industry pertaining to the application and development of provider fee schedules.
