Description
To greet park guests in a courteous and pleasant manner and provide information to guests about the Hyland Hills Ski Area and Three Rivers Park District, collect user fees and concession fees, and perform related clerical work in a manner that assures an efficient and timely quality service.

All Hyland Hills employees receive a FREE Unlimited Ski Pass.  Ski or snowboard anytime during the entire 2016-17 season at no cost!


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Courteously greets park guests and ensures that questions are properly answered or referred. Sells tickets, rentals, passes, merchandise, food products, as assigned, and maintains inventory control of items, as directed. Answers telephones and provides information on Hyland Hills Ski Area and the Park District or refers calls to appropriate sources. Performs a variety of general chalet cleaning and stocking functions.


Qualifications
Education and Experience
Minimum 16 years of age.
 
Language Skills
Ability to communicate with park guests, supervisors, and co-workers in a positive, friendly manner both orally and in written form. Ability to use correct grammar, spelling and punctuation and effective oral and written communication skills.
 
Communication Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure, operating, and safety manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence accurately and in a timely fashion.  Ability to communicate effectively with Park District personnel and a variety of vendors.
 
Mathematical Skills
Ability to perform basic math computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.  Ability to use a calculator. Experience in handling and accounting for receipts.
 
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense thinking to resolve simple individual tasks, carry out simple written and verbal instructions, and solve routine procedural problems by applying simple learned responses.  Ability to read and understand operating, safety and procedure manuals, written instructions and product labeling, and complete various written reports.
 
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and to manipulate finance office equipment, machines, and material.  The employee frequently is required to talk and hear.  The noise level is usually moderate.
 
Other Skills and Abilities
Ability to demonstrate maturity and responsibility in the handling of money. Ability to work under minimum supervision.  Ability to perform a variety of office functions including word processing, light typing, and data entry. Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete a variety of work tasks under minimal direction.
 
 


Selection Procedure
A fully completed Three Rivers Park District Online Application must be received by Human Resources.  This position is Open until Filled. Any materials received after the closing date and time will not be considered. Applications will be evaluated on the basis of relevant experience and training. A top group of applicants will be invited to participate in further job screening. 
Final appointment is contingent upon the applicant passing a background investigation including a criminal history search. Costs of the background will be paid for by Three Rivers Park District.
