Performs a variety of customer service tasks in the operations of the Park District in a manner that assures an efficient, safe, and clean operation while providing park guests the highest quality service possible.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Food Service Operations:
1. Prepares and serves food products and beverages that are tasteful and pleasing to guests.
   ·Stores, prepares, and serves food products and refreshments in a manner that meets all local and state health code requirements as well as facility rules and guidelines.
   ·Maintains kitchen and storage areas in a clean and safe manner.
   ·Assists in kitchen prep duties including portioning, cutting, and cooking of ingredients.
   ·Work a station on the cook line as directed; this may include operating a stove top, griddle, deep fryer, oven, or other equipment as necessary.
2. Assists in the performance of a wide variety of maintenance functions including trash removal, cleaning, and stocking.
3. Cleans and sanitizes food service area and equipment.
   ·Ensures appropriate disposal of all waste products
   ·Adheres to recycling and composting program for food services area generated waste products.
   ·Maintains equipment in clean, sanitary, and good working condition.
   ·As directed, assures food service operation meets local and state health code requirements.
4. Assists in the inventory of supplies/products on hand at the end of each day in order to plan for meal preparation on subsequent days.
5. Keeps appropriate staff promptly informed of problems or other issues related to the position.
6. Performs other related duties as apparent or assigned.

Facility Operations:
1. Greets park patrons at assigned location and provides information on facilities and programs
2. Sells daily and season park passes, merchandise, and tends food concession area where applicable.
3. Assigns campsite and completes various registrations where applicable
4. Rents recreation equipment where applicable (i.e. boat rentals)
5. Follows prescribed cash handling and daily record keeping procedures; records user occasion data and completes necessary forms, as assigned
6. Keeps work area/equipment clean, orderly and free from hazards
7. Performs other related duties as apparent or assigned.



Education and Experience
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Language Skills
Ability to read and understand documents such as operating procedures, safety and technical manuals, guidelines and regulations.  Ability to write routine reports.  Ability to effectively present information to park guests.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to work with American units of money.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to anticipate needs of participants and provide appropriate instruction and assistance.  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple written and verbal instructions.
Certificates and Registrations
When assigned to rental operations, must be able to obtain binding certification from manufacturer of inventoried ski and snowboard equipment.
Other Skills and Abilities
Ability to be diplomatic and pleasant under stress conditions. Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete a variety of work tasks.  Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with park guests, organizations, and Park District employees.

Food Service Operations:

While performing the duties of this assignment, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk, hear, taste, or smell.  The employee frequently is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to stoop or crouch and occasionally to kneel.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift/or move up 50 pounds.
Work Environment
Food Service Operations:

The employee regularly works with commercial food preparation equipment with related exposure to hot grease, grills, cookers, food warmers, beverage dispensers, refrigerators, freezers and a variety of electrical appliances with potential to electric shock, cooking fumes and odors and hot grease.  The noise level in the work place is usually moderate.

Facility Operations/Nature Center Operations: 

The employee regularly works with cash, a cash register, and other administrative materials.  The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions with regular exposure to cold, often below zero degrees and low wind chill.  The noise level in the work place is usually moderate.

Selection Procedure
A fully completed Three Rivers Park District Online Application must be received by Human Resources . This position is Open until Filled.  Any materials received after the closing date and time will not be considered. Applications will be evaluated on the basis of relevant experience and training. A top group of applicants will be invited to participate in further job screening. 
Final appointment is contingent upon the applicant passing a background investigation including a criminal history search. Costs of the background will be paid for by Three Rivers Park District.
