The Minnesota Attorney General’s office is seeking highly capable individuals with forensic accounting, financial forensics, or audit experience who are interested in representing the public as a Financial Investigator. This position contributes to the economic well-being of Minnesota by uncovering, investigating and stopping fraudulent submissions made to taxpayer-funded public programs.
Our team of professionals investigates and prosecutes fraud on the State’s Medical Assistance program. The Financial Investigator analyzes and conducts audits on payroll and bank records, credit card statements, invoices, and other records to uncover financial irregularities and trace illegal financial activities related to Medical Assistance fraud.
Our selection process is competitive. Applicants should have successful relevant experience; a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in accounting, finance, business, or a related field; outstanding communication and analytical skills; and good judgment and character.
