  • Partner with Sourcing and Merchant teams to align on priorities and goals for the division
  • Collaboratively determine priority business partners and understand near and long term growth plans for the business including business partners and countries of production
  • For priority business partners, work to understand their factory matrix and identify the strengths and weaknesses of the factory matrix
  • Work closely with business partners to understand their programs, monitor audit results, and help them improve over time
  • Work with overseas team members to help drive business partner elevation and gain the necessary insights to provide Sourcing and Merchant partners with timely and relevant updates
  • Define and implement oversight and elevation programs for Responsible Sourcing to improve supply chain performance, transparency and accountability 
  • Review audits results and distill learnings into insights and recommendations for business partners, Sourcing and Merchant leaders
  • Provide regular, proactive updates to Sourcing and Merchant leaders on priority business partners and factory performance
  • Elevate all major non-compliance issues to Sourcing leaders, RS leaders and Merchant leaders as necessary
  • Work with RS goal leads to lead relevant RS goal-related efforts within your division
  • Act as the primary operational liaison to Better Work HQ - provide field insights and recommendations to BW HQ and share program information from BW HQ with field teams
  • Report on progress of BW factories over time
  • Manage matrix of BW factories and ensure budgeting is accurate given new BW pricing model
  • Manage issues as they arise with appropriate internal and external partners
  • Build and develop relationships with relevant universities to drive industry collaboration around well -being measurement, monitoring and definitions
Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree
  • 5-8 years of experience in environmental sustainability/labor/human rights or related work that is to Responsible Sourcing
  • Experience in managing projects of large scope and industry collaboration
  • Knowledge and experience of textile wet processing, chemicals or other environmental high impact manufacturing
  • Knowledge and experience with complex human/labor rights issues and/or economic development
  • Experience working with global teams/business partners and international travel experience
  • Analytical experience related to social or environmental topics
  • Expert in program management and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
  • Ability to establish strong relationships with cross-functional teams, business partners, and industry organizations
  • Strong meeting management/facilitation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Relevant advanced degree
  • Degree in environmental sustainability/law/public policy/business or equivalent work experience
  • Past working experience or knowledge of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC), Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs (IPE) and/or the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), International Labor Organization (ILO), Business for Social Responsibility (BSR), public or private development organizations, fair trade certifiers, human rights organizations, labor groups, US or foreign government agencies
