Doherty Staffing Solutions has an opportunity for a Process Technician to work at our client company located in Litchfield, MN. The hours are 6-4:30 Monday-Thursday with overtime on Friday as needed. The pay range is $18-$20 per hour depending on experience.JOB SUMMARY
To facilitate process development and improvement for glass production using established continuous improvement methods and tools. Primary production goals to achieve rapid new process development, yield improvement, daily throughput, and productivity/efficiency. Work within our ISO system to develop work instructions and travelers and process checks to ensure ongoing quality. Processes to improve include raw material selection, cost reduction, glass processing, final yields, cycle time reductions, part and machine set ups, machining, lapping, polishing, cleaning, and final inspection. PROCESS TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Create solutions to complex technical problems in manufacturing cell of production
• Create, modify, and test process variations for new and existing products
• Inspect products and processes for flaws and identify areas of improvement
• Prepare and conduct experiments and collect data; calculate or record results during experiments
• Assist in process design, development, and production; design fixtures and set up equipment
• Utilize computer-aided process development tools as needed during improvement phase, to include statistical analysis like SPC chart, run charts, Cpk analysis, Value Stream Maps
• Plan the manufacturing process; estimate project costs and specify materials to be used
• Perform audits of production and process capability; monitor process using floor metrics
• Design, develop, test, and implement new manufacturing processes to increase capability and capacity
• Research new processes and capabilities
• Ensure all product is properly inspected and meets all requirements prior to delivery to QC
• Prepare reports, flow diagrams and charts to measure and assess manufacturing productivity
• Manage the cost and time constraints of projects
• Select, manage and work with sub-contractors
• Work closely with equipment operators to monitor and improve the efficiency, output and safety of operations within the plant
• Ensure the process works at the optimum level, at the right rate and quality.
• Find solutions to process problems using tools like an 8D, TPS, 5 Whys, Fishbone analysis, et al
• Make observations, take measurements, collect & interpret data, make decisions with other team members
• Review existing data (also lab analysis) to see if more research and information need to be collected
• Assists others in setting up, repairing, and maintaining production equipment to minimize equipment downtime

Skilled with Microsoft Office software Desired Experience and Education:
2 or 4 year engineering or technical degree or equivalent manufacturing experience, LEAN and six sigma training, understanding of production flow and machining principles, Solid Works or CAD software, basic CAM knowledge.CONTACT
