Pro Staff in partnership with a large glass company located in Faribault, MN have an exciting opportunity available for a Logistics Coordinator. The Logistics Coordinator will be a professional with a specialized field built on an understanding of the theoretical concepts and principles in logistics and warehouse management.  This knowledge is acquired through professional and academic qualification along with extensive practical experience.  Duties and Responsibilities • Maintains shipping and receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.  • Closely follows shipping all the way to the customer and monitors and improves KPIs relating to customer satisfaction with regards to shipping and transport.  • Quickly and effectively deals with any problems associated with shipping and receiving goods.  • Complies with federal, state and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements/freight guidelines by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.  • Thorough understanding of INCOTERM and the respective documentation required to move shipment internationally  • Experience with international business operations and the local VAT systems and registration requirements.   • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.  • Supervise, mentor, and train warehouse personnel on safe warehouse practices in shipping, receiving and inventory management.  • Sets up best practice procedures for internal customers (including those world-wide) to interface effectively with Shipping and Receiving.  • Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.  • Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.  • Running shift with safety and efficiency as priorities. Education • 4 year degree in Business Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology or related field.  • Strong logistics background with 5-10 years’ experience managing a warehouse/shipping environment.  Required Skills/Abilities/Traits • Important to develop contacts within the logistics field.  This would include freight forwarders and independent freight companies.
