Special Education Paraprofessional
Community of Peace Academy is an urban public charter school located on the East Side of St. Paul Minnesota serving nearly 800 students in grades PreK to 12. We are seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional for the 2016-2017 school year, for assignment in our 7th-12th grade program. Special Education Paraprofessionals work daily when school is in session and are given six paid holidays during the school year. Other benefits include up to ten sick days per school year, health and dental insurance coverage and a retirement plan.
The qualified applicant will possess a strong ability to develop positive rapport with learners of diverse backgrounds, to maintain clear and consistent expectations, to support learning activities and student behavior in with skill and enthusiasm, and to communicate effectively and professionally with team members.
The Special Education Paraprofessional must hold a 2-year degree or have completed at least 2 years of college. A 4-year degree and experience working with children with disabilities is desired, but not required.
